This is the best day of my life. Ok so it wasn't really the best day of my WHOLE life...but it was pretty darn awesome. It starts out just mediocre; I actually have a dentist appointment at 9:00. The office reminds me of a really fancy Parade of Homes house I walked through last year. Well, the wisdom teeth are coming out on Monday! woot. Get ready for smoothies, applesauce, and pudding Jillbert. Later, another appointment. This one is more exciting Alicia says. I get to have an ultrasound. As I'm watching the screen though I am not seeing the same things the ultrasound lady says she is seeing. But I come to the conclusion that she probably knows what she's doing...hopefully right?
I talk Alicia into walking up to campus with me after this. As we're walking, a very attractive guy stops me. I actually know him because he was basically the most popular guy in our high school back home; however, to appear less stalker-ish I pretend I don't. He asks me if I'm from St. George and I reply in the affirmative. He says I look familiar, and that's when I inform him that we went to the same high school. I never actually met the kid back then so the fact that he remembers my face and stopped me makes me feel pretty darn good about myself.
Anywho...following that fun little run in with "fate" (haha just kidding) I walkdown the stairs to the RB where my future is about to be posted. We auditioned for Back Up Touring Team over a month ago and our directors said they would post the results sometime today. I do NOT want to look at that list. I'm not expecting to be moved up because I've only been on 1:00 for a semester. I am totally happy to stay on that team and have fun.
But... who doesn't want to be moved up?
I turn the corner and see two pieces of paper taped to the wall. Walking slowly, trying not to focus on any of the names, I approach the signs. 1:00 team. That's safe; I'll start looking at that list first. But my eyes start to wander over to the Back Up team list. My name is the first one on the list. I think this is when I start to hyperventilate a little bit. Oh my gosh I cannot believe this! How did this even happen? I run up the RB stairs and call my mom. -Hey I'm not even winded. I think my heart is already beating faster than normal so my body hasn't really noticed a difference.
My Gold II final is next. Pass that with flying colors. Thanks Owen for being such an awesome partner. Then it's the Alicia and Jillbert show again. We drive to Old Spaghetti Factory to celebrate. Did you know that with your meal you get salad, bread, and ICE CREAM?! It's totally true. Free dessert with every meal. I'm still baffled with the fact that I haven't come here before.
So It's 10:00 and it's raining outside. Amber and I go downstairs to say goodbye to Elisa. She's moving out tomorrow. A few girls from our ward are jumping around the pool and one sticks her foot in. "It's so warm!" she yells. Amber turns to me with an excited and pleading look in her eyes. "Do you wanna jump in the pool with me?" Are you serious? Yes, she's serious.
We run back to our apartment and throw on our 6 month forgotten swimsuits. They are happy to be pulled out from under the bed. Lisa and Celeste join us as we run down to the pool, dodging huge raindrops. splash! Oh swimming I have missed you so! It's like a hot tub - "not actually a hot tub, more like a really nice bath" Amber corrects me. This, this right here, swimming with my roommates, makes my day the best day.
